    Description

    This inline cartridge filter features an ultracapillary membrane that filters bacteria and viruses down to 0.01 microns (ultrafiltration).

    The ultrafiltration membrane is essentially a very fine sieve that stops the smallest impurities, bacteria and viruses down to 0.02 microns. The membrane is bacteriostatically treated and should be replaced approximately every 6-9 months. This membrane does not retain minerals and dissolved substances in the water.

    To extend the service life of the ultracapillary membrane, pre-flushing of the cartridges installed before it is required. Since activated carbon cartridges are usually installed before the membrane, these must be pre-flushed to prevent the membrane from becoming loaded with activated carbon particles.

    The membrane cannot be cleaned and must be replaced periodically. Replacing it essentially involves detaching it from the system and unscrewing the inlet/outlet connectors. At both ends the membrane has a 1/4″ internal thread and 1/4″ quick-connect fittings are used.
