Not designed for TDS reduction: The FILTRO UF99 system is not designed for TDS (total dissolved solids) removal, as it only stops impurities from the feed water while retaining essential minerals such as potassium, calcium, sodium and magnesium, which are beneficial to health. Only reverse osmosis purification systems can significantly reduce TDS values.

Filter cartridges and lifespan:

1. 2-in-1 pre-filter made of polypropylene and block activated carbon. It has a filtration rating of up to 5 microns and should be replaced every 6 months or after a maximum of 2500 liters of filtered water.

2. Ultrafiltration membrane of up to 0.01 microns. This membrane is essentially a very fine sieve that removes even the smallest impurities from the water. It should be replaced every 12 months or after a maximum of 5000 liters of filtered water.

3. Block activated carbon post-filter. This cartridge is designed to eliminate unpleasant taste and odor from the water, reduce chlorine and its derivatives, and absorb a wide range of harmful substances. The cartridge should be replaced every 6-12 months or after a maximum of 2500 liters of filtered water.

4. The FILTRO ALK3 alkalinization system can be installed independently or after a reverse osmosis system. It contains a filter cartridge, which should be replaced approximately every 12 months and which considerably improves the taste of the water, increases the pH, and regulates odor. It should be replaced every 12 months.

About the FILTRO ALK3 System:

3-in-1 filtration: the cartridge combines alkaline particles, mineral substances and block carbon in a single filter to improve and regulate the taste and odor of water purified through reverse osmosis membranes. This system also increases the pH of the filtered water, turning it into alkaline water. Alkalinity varies depending on how long the water remains in the cartridge.

pH level increase: the human body regulates pH levels to approximately 7.3 to maintain optimal health. Reverse osmosis systems provide water with a neutral pH, around 7; however, this alkalinization cartridge increases the water's pH by 1-2 points compared to the inlet water. This is beneficial for the body.

Restoration of essential minerals: the mineral layer of the filter adds mineral salts back into the purified water, ensuring the daily intake of minerals. Please note that minerals may contribute to a HIGHER TDS value, but mineralized water is much healthier than pure water with low TDS. Additionally, the carbon block regulates taste, eliminates odors and other remaining pollutants from water purified by reverse osmosis, as a final stage.

Maximum compatibility: the system has a 1/4" quick-connect fitting. It can be used as is, but we recommend installing it after a reverse osmosis purification system. It is compatible with all reverse osmosis systems on the market.
