Permeate flow and salt (NaCl) rejection are specified for the following test conditions: 2,000 mg/L NaCl, 25°C, pH 8, indicated pressure and 15% permeate recovery. Permeate flows for each specific element may vary, but will not fluctuate by more than 15% from the indicated values.

Maintenance:

Before starting the reverse osmosis system, preliminary membrane preparation, element flushing, device adjustment and other system checks should be performed. Avoid any major pressure or flow surges inside the spiral-wound elements during start-up, shutdown, cleaning, etc., to avoid the risk of membrane damage. During start-up, it is recommended to gradually switch the system from standby to operational mode following these steps:

• gradually increase the feed water pressure over 30-60 seconds
• gradually develop the operational flow rate over 15-20 seconds
• permeate obtained during the first hour of operation is discharged

Important information:

• After initial wetting, always keep the elements moist.
• To prevent biofouling during long operational breaks, it is recommended to immerse the membrane elements in preservative solutions.
• The maximum pressure drop across the entire length of the housing is 2.1 bar.
