The ultraviolet (UV) water sterilizer effectively eliminates algae, fungi and bacteria. The water is exposed to UV waves for a short period of time. Nucleic acid, deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and ribonucleic acid (RNA) in microorganisms are absorbed by UV rays and destroyed by them, thus sterilizing the water.

The UV lamp inside the sterilizer has a power of 10W and is perfect for sterilizing water supplied by a water purification system. This lamp can be installed on classic under-sink water purifiers, reverse osmosis systems, water dispensers or commercial filtration systems (pastry shops, bars, restaurants, etc.).

It is recommended for sterilizing purified well water, as well water presents a permanent risk of microbiological contamination.

Important information: the sterilizer lamp must be replaced at approx. 12 months. Throughout its operating period, it must remain switched on. UV lamps are not designed to withstand successive switching on/off cycles. When the lamp burns out, the power supply will emit a high-pitched sound. That is the moment to replace the lamp, or if 12 months have passed since installation.

Sterilizer installation:

Check that all components are present before beginning installation. The first step is to screw in the two connectors (inlet/outlet). PTFE tape must be applied to the connectors. Then insert the gasket onto the quartz tube and place it inside the stainless steel sleeve. Next, connect the UV lamp to the socket of the power supply (ballast) and insert them into the quartz tube, screwing on the sterilizer nut. Once assembled, plug the power cord into the outlet. You can now secure the sterilizer using the 2 brackets included in the package.
