Ultracapillary membrane filter, 0.02 microns (10.8"x2")

This inline cartridge filter features an ultracapillary membrane that filters bacteria and viruses down to 0.02 microns (ultrafiltration).

The ultrafiltration membrane (TLCHF-2T) acts as an extremely fine sieve that stops the smallest impurities, bacteria and viruses down to 0.02 microns. The membrane is bacteriostatically treated and should be replaced approximately every 12 months. This membrane does not retain minerals and dissolved substances in the water.

To extend the service life of the ultracapillary membrane, it is necessary to pre-flush the cartridges installed before it. Since activated carbon cartridges are usually mounted before the membrane, they must be pre-flushed to prevent the membrane from becoming clogged with activated carbon particles.

The membrane cannot be cleaned and must be replaced periodically. Replacing it simply involves detaching it from the system and unscrewing the inlet/outlet connectors. At both ends the membrane has a 1/4" internal thread and uses 1/4" quick-connect fittings.

Compatible connectors are as follows:

- Straight connector, 1/4″ tube x 1/4″ male thread, quick-connect coupling

- Elbow connector, 1/4″ tube x 1/4″ male thread, 90 degrees, quick-connect coupling

This ultrafiltration membrane is compatible with the FILTRO UF4 CLASIC, FILTRO UF5 BLACK filtration systems or as an extra cartridge for any other filtration system (e.g. FILTRO UF6 ALCALIN).
